✅ The Best Hosting In The Market! Just Here ✅
The best free web hosting of 2019
The expense of creating and maintaining a website can increase rapidly, so choosing the best free web hosting provider for your needs can help reduce costs. But be careful, as we discovered that out of a list of 18 free website providers we collected, only eight of them – less than half, in other words – actually delivered the products.
Of the 18 free web hosting providers, Infinityfree is our recommended choice with Byethost, Googiehost, 000Webhost, FreeHostingNoAds, and FreeWebHostingArea being the other options.
Because you are provided with a free service, the obligations that normally arise from a paid subscription no longer exist and you are usually left alone when things go wrong. None of the free web hosting providers that passed our test could match the cheapest payment service on the market. But there is even worse news. We discovered that the websites of some free web hosting providers were not properly protected, which does not generate much confidence in their ability to offer the level of service that one would expect from payment providers.
Remember the old saying, ‘you get what you pay for’? Well, nowhere else in the technology business is this more true than with web hosting. Our advice would be to stay away from free web hosting services unless absolutely necessary. If you want to move forward, this is our list of the best free service providers. Free website creators can be a better option if you simply want to have an online presence quickly and easily.
Best free web hosting in general Disk Space: Unlimited | Domain Hosting: Unlimited Traffic | Monthly Traffic: Unlimited Bandwidth | Subdomains: Unlimited | Email Accounts: 10 | FTP Accounts: 1 | MySQL Databases: 400
- Bandwidth: Unlimited storage
- 400 MySQL databases
- Average charging times
In the world of free website hosting, Infinityfree stands out for good reasons. It has a well designed website that makes a positive impression and ticks the right boxes for us. Your homepage gets a C performance rating on our load time test, but apart from that, it looks pretty solid. It has been in business for over six years, claims to have 300,000 users and offers unlimited disk space and bandwidth (though with 50,000 very generous daily visits). You can host as many domains as you want but you will only have 10 email accounts and an FTP to upload your content. There are no hidden fees and despite its free status, you’ll get a 99.9% uptime guarantee (though you’ll be more or less alone if your site goes down) and the popular Softaculous Script installer with over 400 applications. We were surprised to see that its feature list includes 400 MySQL databases (where others only give a handful, if any), a free DNS service, free SSL and free CDN Cloudflare. As you would expect, Infinityfree offers a cheap hosting service (Infinityfree Ultimate Premium) that offers everything unlimited for $5.90 a month, which is worth upgrading as you will also have access to CloudFlare Railgun, which significantly reduces loading time.
Fast and easy hosting Disk Space: 1GB | Domain Hosting: 1 | Monthly Traffic: 50 GB | Subdomains: 7 – Email Accounts: 5 | FTP Accounts: 1 | MySQL Databases: 5
- Good support
- Easy to use
- Very limited server space
Byethost is part of Byet Internet, a U.S.-based provider of hosting services, domain names and resellers. With more than a million websites hosted, it says its free hosting service is “one of the most powerful networks dedicated exclusively to free hosting in the world. Users are given 1GB of server space (though lately this seems to have changed to unlimited), 50GB of monthly bandwidth and MySQL/PHP compatibility. They also benefit from 24/7 technical support and access to Byethost’s community and knowledge base. And if you are ever interested in becoming a free web hosting provider, Byethost operates a separate entity, myownfreehost, which allows you to do just that.
A free host offered by cPanel and Cloudflare Disk Space: 1GB | Domain Hosting: 1 | Monthly Traffic: Unlimited | Subdomains: 2 – Email Accounts: 2 | FTP Accounts: 2 | MySQL Databases: 2
- 100 GB of data
- 2 FTP accounts
- Free SSL
- Does not inspire confidence
- Security Errors
You could easily confuse Googiehost with Googlehost, a blatant way of attracting attention. However, eight-year-old Googiehost remains one of the best options in a not-so-good group of free web hosting providers. That said, the company’s website inspires little confidence. The copyright notice in small print extends to 2021 instead of 2019, presumably to protect against possible infringements by travelers over time. In addition, strange grammatical errors abound – Last, Fruitful, Powerful – not to mention confusing terms: SSD or hard disk space? SSL or no SSL? Unlimited bandwidth or 100 GB? In short, walk carefully. Still, it’s not all bad. This is the only provider that comes with cPanel and Cloudflare, albeit in its free form. However, keep in mind that we have experienced some cases where the dreaded “your connection is not private” appeared on our screen when we tried to access cPanel. That’s never a good sign, as Chrome identifies it as an “unsafe” property. With over 165,000 sites hosted, Googiehost’s revenue model is based on some of the free websites that are converted to paid websites through Interserver.net. In addition, it runs some banners on control panels and on its own website, but not on users’ sites. One last warning: You must provide a reason for the company to accept your website, a special version of Recaptcha and a surprising way to eliminate spammers.
A good alternative to Googiehost Disk Space: 1GB | Domain Hosting: 1 | Monthly Traffic: 5 GB | Subdomains: 3 – Email Accounts: 1 | FTP Accounts: 1 | MySQL Databases: 1
- Larger file size limit
- Direct installation
- 3 subdomains
- Very limited one-click installation
- Limited disk space and bandwidth installation
- The specifications of the free plan on the website are incorrect
FreeHostingNoAds delivers just what it says on the can: Free web hosting without ads. The brand is owned by Runhosting, an established web hosting provider that offers unlimited disk space and unlimited traffic for as little as $2.39 a month. However, as expected, FreeHostingNoAds offers a small subset of what you get with a paid account and uses the same control panel as Batcave (1 GB/5 GB/1 domain) and FreeHostingEU (200 MB/4 GB/5 domains). The latter are two other free web hosting providers that share an identical set of features with FreeHostingNoAds, and may well be part of the same family. An SSL certificate, which will give you the most important security lock in browsers, will cost you $30. The control panel, through Zacky Tools Installer, is extremely limited, with Grav, WordPress or Joomla being offered as a one-click installation. However, you can install your own if you wish, but keep in mind that the file size limit is only 15 MB. Creating a new account is easy, but we were a little concerned that emails from the account would land directly in our spam mailbox, indicating that some sites hosted on FreeHostingNoAds might be blacklisted.
A controversial choice that cannot be ignored Disk Space: 1GB | Domain Hosting: 1 | Monthly Traffic: 10 GB | Subdomains: Email Accounts: 0 | FTP Accounts: 1 | MySQL Databases: 1
- Player established
- Impressive bandwidth support
- No need to install with a single click
- No email accounts or subdomains
Our fifth choice is 000Webhost, a free hosting provider owned by Hostinger. 000Webhost has been around for 10 years and has millions of users, which unfortunately makes it a primary target for hackers. In 2015, the provider’s entire database was compromised with the details of some 13.5 million stolen accounts. Since then, 000Webhost has changed completely, but many users still remember hacking to this day. There is no control panel, although there are three routes to building a website: You can use Zyro’s website builder, or WordPress, or just upload your own files. As expected, there is no SSL certificate, but something surprising is the absence of subdomains, email accounts, as well as support through tickets (you have to go through the forums). I should be able to install two websites, but we got an error message when we tried to do this a second time, saying that we had reached our limit. In addition, the email account creation was marked by Google as a suspicious email, with a pop-up warning that malware often comes from that URL. Note that you can also create a website at 000webhostapp.com using the same credentials as 000webhost.com.
Ideal for experienced veterans Disk Space: 1.5 GB | Domain Hosting: 1 | Monthly Traffic: Unlimited Bandwidth | Subdomains: Email Accounts: 0 | FTP Accounts: 1 | MySQL Databases: 3
- Unlimited bandwidth permission
- 3 MySQL databases of 1.5 GB storage
- No need to install with a single click
- No site builder
FreeWebHostingArea could have had a website design since 1999, but it’s another option if you want a free web hosting company that can give you unlimited bandwidth (or at least that’s what the provider says). In addition, with 1.5 GB, it offers more generous storage capacity than most, plus three MySQL databases, which also outperform most rival free website hosting providers. The control panel is rudimentary, and at the time of writing this article, the site builder and self-installer were not working properly, leaving any user with the task of uploading their files via FTP if they want to create their own websites. The maximum file size allowed in FreeWebHostingArea is 12MB. We liked the fact that FreeWHA, as it is also known, is active on Twitter. Users also receive daily or weekly off-site backups and do not receive ads on low-traffic websites. Upgrade to the FreeWHA Basic package for $12 a year and you’ll get the deleted ads no matter how popular the site is, along with five MySQL databases per account, a one-click database backup and priority technical support.
